Big Bikes at Malvern

Back

Malvern is a great place to visit, loads of interesting places, things to do and of course it has it's fair share of excellent biking roads. But on this occasion we were here to visit a fairly new bike event called Big Bikes at Malvern.

But first things first lets not get ahead of ourselves. The first priority of the day (and every ride out) was breakfast.

Luckily we know of a great little cafe on the outskirts of Malvern, so with destination in hand (so to speak) off we went skirting around Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Worcester arriving in Malvern in no time. (Well it is only 40ish miles)

After filling up on low fat, low cholesterol sausage, bacon, beans, fried bread, toast and diet coke we jumped (OK rather stumbled slowly with our bellies full) on to our bikes and began the epic ride north (All 3 miles of it).

When we got the Three Counties showground what I found nice was the fact that Bikes could park inside the show and not in the car park, also when you arrive a Marshall puts a security sticker on your bike and hands you a duplicate to keeping. So when you leave you have to have the corresponding security sticker for the bike your riding. A nice and simple touch. Also freely available were Honda branded plastic stands for your bikes side stand to stop it sinking in to the soft grass. Nice touch.
